Hunting FAQ's
Here are some commonly asked Hunting questions:
- What is the hunting season in Oregon?
The hunting season in Oregon varies depending on the area and the type of hunt. Click here to find more specific and current information about the hunting season in Oregon. Our Upland Bird Preserve is open from September 1st through March 31st.
- What kind of hunting experience do I need to have?
Hunter safety cards are appropriate.
- What are the age limits?
Ages 12 and up.
- Can we bring our own dog?
Yes, you may. But, our guides have excellent bird dogs that are included in the price of our guided hunts.
- Do you rent guns?
No we don't. But, if a logistical problem occurs, we're willing to help and may have a gun available to use. Contact us early and we'll do everything we can to help you out.
- How much do licenses cost?
Your current Oregon hunting license is sufficient, but if you don't have a valid license, preserve permits are $6.00 for Oregon residents and $12.00 for out-of-state residents. For more information on current regulations and hunting licenses, click here.
- Do your hunting trips include/provide ammo?
We do not stock ammo for sale, but if you run out we can probably round up a box or two for you.
- What type of ammo is recommended?
Steel shot, Size 6. It's the way to go since we hunt around lakes.
- What should I wear?
Orange, orange, and more orange. Hunter safety orange, safety glasses, long pants and comfortable boots are strongly suggested.
